Dr. Delwar Hossain has more than 27 years of teaching and research experiences in the premier institutions in Bangladesh. Currently, he is Professor of International Relations, University of Dhaka and concurrently the Director of the East Asia Center, University of Dhaka. He was the Chair of the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka during 2009-2012. He has authored and co-authored a number of books including edited and published materials of numerous articles. He has keen interests in the areas of international cooperation and development.
He was engaged in building collaborative relations between WIPO and the University of Dhaka for setting up an Intellectual Property (IP) Academy at the University of Dhaka during 2013-2016.
He studied in the University of Dhaka. He did his second Master’s degree in Asia Pacific International Relations from International University of Japan. He obtained his PhD in global and intercultural studies from Ferris University in Yokohama, Japan.
In addition, he led several projects and programs related to academic, R&D and innovation. He served as the Project Director of Innovation and Performance based teaching and learning in International Relations in Bangladesh, funded by the World Bank.
Dr. Delwar has worked with Ford Foundation, Japan Foundation, UNDP, World Bank, USAID, CIDA and the Dutch Embassy. He is also one of Directors of the IPDP – Intellectual Property Development Program, New York, USA.
